Company History

CFR was founded by Walter Penninger and Peter Kennewell and was officially listed on the ASX in June 1986. The company is in the process of establishing a world-class ruby mining operation in the region and is in negotiation with the main land owner on whose land a large proportion of the inferred resource is found.

Differentiating Factor

Cluff is undertaking an exploration and mining project in the Gloucester region of northern NSW. Although rubies are found with sapphires in a number of areas of eastern Australia, the Gloucester area is the only major source of facet-quality ruby in Australia, and one of a few in the world. CFR's results have been encouraging, with high ruby grades recovered in many sections of the project.

CFR competes with other mineral explorers and producers in Australia and overseas. These include Kimberly Diamond Company, Astro Diamond Mines and Diamond Rose. CFR sells diamonds and sapphires to the industrial sector, the jewellery market (wholesalers/shops) and to private investors.
