Eftel (EFT) is a national telecommunications service provider, offering a range of broadband data, internet and long-distance telephony services to the retail and wholesale telecommunication marketplaces. All retail products are branded EFTel. All wholesale products are branded EFT Wholesale Internet or Fleet Broadband.

Company History

The company listed on the ASX in December 1996. In August 1999, it changed its name from Goldminco NL (GMN) to Datafast Telecommunications Limited (DFT). Since then, the company has disposed of its resource interests and assets to become a focused telecommunications company. In December 2005, the company changed its name to Eftel Limited (EFT).

Industries Of Operation

EFT operates in the Telecommunications industry, as an internet service provider. Broadband services have grown in popularity, as has Voice over Internet (VoIP).

Differentiating Factor

EFT differentiates itself from its competitors as it offers both retail and wholesale internet products. Eftel's retail products are distributed nationally and helps in creating greater customer awareness of the EFTel brand. Its wholesale division services a quarter of Australia's ISP.

Major Customers & Competitors

EFT competes with various dial-up and broadband ISPs, including Telstra, Optus and Primus Telecom. EFT has both retail and business customers.
