Freshtel Holdings Limited (FRE) is an internet telephone technology company that develops and markets Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony products and services. FRE offers end-to-end VoIP solutions to wholesale customers globally through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Voicestream Network and Virbiage. The company also has a direct-to-market retail arm (Frehtel Retail) and an internal VoIP research and development business.

Freshtel Australia was established in 2002. The company was incorporated on 20 October 2004 and listed on the ASX in April, 2005. In 2006, the company entered into an agreement with Binatone Telecom Group, one of the world's largest DECT handset manufacturer, to co-develop and deliver internet telephony hardware to the mass market. Its head office is located in Surrey Hills, Victoria.

Freshtel Holdings operates in the Telecommunications Services industry in Australia and Asia. The company's principal activity is the provision of Voice over Internet (VoIP) solutions. Demand for VoIP services is expected to rise as broadband Internet prices continue to fall, increasing the number of potential VoIP subscribers.

Freshtel Holding is one of Australia's largest supplier of VoIP services on a global scale. FRE's differentiating factor is that it owns and manages all of its hardware, software and network services. Its integrated products - softphone, hardware and call termination service - offer a complete VoIP solution for its customers.

Main customers of Freshtel's wholesale business include ISPs, telcos, retailers and equipment manufacturers. The company provides internet telephony service to the largest UK retailer, Tesco. The company has over 260 000 subscribers to its retail brand, Firefly. FRE's main competitors include other providers of voice over Internet protocol services and products, such as Skype, Engin, and Google Talk.
