Paladin Energy (PDN) is an uranium producer, which is on the acquisition trail for advanced uranium projects. It has key JORC-compliant uranium projects in Australia and Africa, including the Langer Heinrich Project in Namibia, the Kayelekera Project in Malawi, the Valhalla and Skal deposits in Queensland and the Manyingee and Oobagamba projects in Western Australia.

PDN floated in 1993 after acquiring uranium assets and key staff from German company Uranerz. For 10 years, PDN was actively seeking to develop a uranium mine. In 2002, the company acquired the Langer Heinrich Project from ASX-listed company Acclaim Resources after it decided to focus on its Western Australian projects.

PDN operates in the Materials sector, with uranium projects in Australia and Africa. Exploration companies aim to discover and delineate occurrences of metals and minerals that can be economically mined and extracted. In the mining industry, production methods vary, depending on commodity, grades, scale of operations and open cut or underground mining.

PDN is one of the few new independent uranium producers in the world. The second plant at Kayelekera in Malawi is being commissioned while Langer Heinrich in Nambia is about to start up its Stage 2 expansion. PDN is within the top five largest uranium-producing countries in the world and further expansion is probable.

PDN's major customers are nuclear power plant operators, principally in Europe. Spot sales, if any, are also restricted to the existing customer base, as the end destination of all uranium shipments is strictly controlled. Competitors include Australian-based uranium producers (such as ERA) and international competitors. Other significant producing countries include Canada, Nigeria and Russia.
